Florian Effenberg participated in the Energy I-Corps workshop

The Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) has completed a seven-week course to help train researchers like Florian Effenberg to develop entrepreneurial skills. The $55,000 course was organised by PPPL’s Technology Transfer Office and was funded by the DOE’s Energy I-Corps programme. The course helped teams develop research skills that weren’t taught in college, including learning to talk to industry experts and how to find out what private companies want. Entrepreneur Todd Morrill led the course, which included eight two-hour weekly workshops and one-on-one weekly office hours. Morrill estimates he has led over 1,500 teams through a similar process at numerous federal agencies and companies.
